      A Financial Services Company

      A financial services company contacted Urban Suites for a customer engagement event. The request was for ice cream for a staff of 75.

      The activation went so well that within a few months, Urban Suites was invited back. The employees raved so much about the first experience that the company’s CEO joined for the second one — and that began our relationship with one of our largest customers.

      The following year, we contacted them in January to propose 12 events — one for each month — featuring a variety of desserts. They loved the proposal and hired us for every month.

      For each event, we created a unique activation. Beginning in February of that year, we offered hot chocolate with gourmet handmade marshmallows. Several months featured ice cream in different forms — traditional hand-scooped ice cream, popsicles, ice cream pies, and ice cream sandwiches. We ended the year with cookie decorating, once again showing the CEO’s commitment to his employees. He joined us twice that year, both times serving ice cream to the staff, and offered to provide us with any support we needed, including letters of recommendation or anything else to help grow our business.

      Throughout the year, we really got to know the employees at this company. Seeing them in the community, they were just as excited as when we showed up for events. Many months, we were met with warm applause — they were as delighted to see us as we were to see them.

      In year three of our relationship, the staff voted for each engagement with us to feature only ice cream — it was definitely their favorite! During the holiday season, we were asked to repeat the cookie decorating competition; however, we designed something extra special that we knew they’d enjoy even more — and of course, we paired it with ice cream.

      Always Advocating

      An investment banking firm reached out to us for an event after tasting our ice cream and meeting our owner earlier the previous year.

      The event went so well that our contact at the company introduced us to two other companies.

      The following year, her event budget was reduced, but wanting to support Urban Suites and maintain that engagement for her colleagues, she collaborated with one of their vendors to provide ice cream. This not only gave us a new contact but also ensured we could continue meeting their needs for the year.

      The vendor was so pleased with the event that he immediately offered to write us a review on the platform of our choice, helping others make their decision to hire us.

      Wrong Day, No Problem

      This company hired us for their friends and family event. Our very first engagement — cotton candy for 1,500 people — was a success and well received by all attendees.

      The same company hired us later that year for ice cream early in the day for 500 people, and s’mores for the same group later that evening.

      When we emailed to confirm the details a few days before the event, our contact wrote back to say that we had the wrong day — the event was actually scheduled for the next day.

      After checking the form she had completed, we discovered that the wrong date had been entered.

      No worries! As problem solvers, we worked overtime, reallocated staff, and showed up on site as needed — creating two successful activations on the same day.

      We’ve since returned to that site again and have always been met with rave reviews.
